I love basics. I believe in a wardrobe with at least 70% of basics and essentials and the rest belongs to accessories and trends. Or better put in Michael Kors words “70 percent of the clothes you own should be meat and potatoes. 30 percent should be icing and fluff—that’s color, pattern, shine, and accessories. Too many women get the proportions the other way round, then can’t figure out why they can’t get dressed.”
The first time I read that statement I stopped feeling guilty about not giving in too much fluff. So, I like to have basics and then basics with a twist. These minimalistic sweaters with those beautiful tie-details on the sleeves are just that.
As a mom caring for kids the majority of my time or working behind a screen I try to keep it simple yet polished. Which is why I took on the task of looking for these type of sweaters in a range of materials and prices. I narrowed it down to 3 categories by keeping in mind materials and a good quality. I would never recommend something just because it has a low price.
I went with the one I’m wearing because of the neckline. I nurse my baby all day and extended breastfeeding is something I like to do. I’ll go for higher necklines every once in a while but not all the time cause pulling my top up is something I don’t like to do on the regular.
TIE-SLEEVE SWEATERS ROUND UP
1. LIGHT-WEIGHT SWEATERS
Perfect for layering and wear inside.
2. CHUNKIER SWEATERS
A little bit thicker providing more warmth.
Sweatshirts are amazing. They are warm and can be easily dressed up or down. I wear them with joggers or leggings but also with jeans and some heeled boots.
Are you loving these little details as much as I am? Hope you find one perfect for you!
