Mom weekday wardrobe: Late August

I think I finally found the perfect “balance” for this type of post. I definitely can’t do it weekly, but I can do it every other week. I think it’s important to know your limits especially when caring for young kids. It will not be day specific but it will be things that I’m wearing lately for my life as a work from home mom of two small kids. Do you like that?

So..without further ado this is what I’ve been wearing lately…and remember: Sometimes I overdress, others I look like crap. Sometimes I really like how I look, others not so much.

Boyfriend jeans and tanks are always on repeat

J crew top, Boyfriends jeans aka dad’s jeans (similar), Asos leather sandals, CK belt (old)

Thoughts on this look: Easy boyfriend jeans and a tank are always in my book..but this shoes. I love them! I bought them to see how I would like silver in shoes and I’m obsessed. It gives a little something to my outfits without much thought. I really recommend not only these sandals but also trying a metallic color on shoes.

The combo I live in as a nursing mom

ASTR Dress, top, Rebecca Minkoff backpack, Soludos shoes

Thoughts on this look: The tee under slip dress or wrap dress is a great tool to dress down a dress. It immediately takes it to casual territory. I wore this to take my kids into Manhattan and felt not only great but also comfortable all the time. I was actually going for sneakers at first but I was going to pass by some older clients’ offices since I was with my dad so I wore my pretty flat sandals.

Before having kids and even during the first two years of motherhood I used to work with my dad with his business (emeralds to be precise. If you don’t know Colombian emeralds are the best)

One thing I have to mention is that I wear a super crop tee to facilitate nursing my baby.  Strap down, top up and baby can eat! Check this post I wrote for The Mom Edit talking about it.

Take your cut offs to another level with silver sandals and a chain velvet bag

Pink Blush Top (similar), Zara shorts (similar and on sale), Asos shoes, Rebecca Minkoff bag

Thoughts on this look: I love off the shoulder tops but I don’t wear them too often because they tend to go up in my shoulders. With all the kneeling and carrying I do I have to fix it all the time. Anyways for this day I felt great in this top. The shoes and bag make it less sporty and that is exactly what I was going for. Got a ton of compliments on my shoes.

Fancy pjs (they are not really pjs)

UO romper (available in blue), Bershka chambray shirt, Soludos Espadrilles, Necklace.

Thoughts on this look: I’m wearing the hell out of this romper before summer ends. It’s super comfortable and looks great.

Dress your swimsuit with a linen button down and shorts

H&M linen tunic, Zara shorts (similar), Mink Pink swimsuit

Thoughts on this look: My son wanted me to get in the pool with him that day so I wore my bathing suit all day. To cover it up I wore this tunic knotted in the front. Loved the look. Through out the day I would wear the tunic (unknotted) only or just the shorts with the swimsuit. Then at the end of the day when my hubby got home I put it all together and run to Trader Joe’s because we had nothing in the fridge.

Thank you for stopping by! It really means everything to me. What’s a blog without its readers? I’m so glad you’re here and I mean it.

Did you see my homepage? I did a little change to let you know how happy it makes me.

Chao, chao, Julieta
