Bodysuit, midi skirt and sneakers! A great casual summer outfit

I’m all about finding easy combos for my everyday craziness. Even though I have my uniforms, I like to inject a little change every now and then. So. Remembering that I became a fan of midi dresses and skirts during pregnancy (because they are crazy comfortable and totally running around with kids-approved) I decided to give it a go to create a casual summer outfit with it.

When I say dress or skirt, I don’t mean just any dress or skirt. I always look for a mid length and a jersey fabric with a good amount of stretch to allow movement. And if it has a slit, I’ll love it even more. It gives the visual illusion of being taller. Sometimes as a petite I shy away of long skirts but a slit always helps.

Now, let’s go to the bodysuit. I’ve recently started wearing bodysuits and I’m SOLD. I really appreciate not having to tuck my tops in all the time thanks to all the kneeling, running and carrying I do throughout the day. Everything stays in place, which is kind of amazing. However, there’s one thing I won’t do: wearing them with low rise bottoms. This pooch needs to be controlled by higher rises.

And sneakers….other than giving the outfit a casual vibe, I’ve been practically wearing everything with sneakers since Ben was born. Two kids ain’t easy!!! Moms of more you rock! Moms of one you rock too!

Top: AE bodysuit (on sale) I ordered a S but an XS would have been fine. It’s very stretchy

Skirt: Zara (this Eileen Fisher is similar in both fabric and length) This BCBG is shorter but still at midi length.

Converse OX slip ons

Bag: French Connection (similar)
