Off-the shoulder tops started making their way back into stores around the spring of 2014 and according to Elle Magazine they are no longer a trend but a wardrobe essential! Hmmm! That explains why I love them so much and have a few in my wardrobe. I’m not a trend person at all, but definitely a essentials one.
There are many variations to this top, however the one I love the most for moms are the bohemian ones. Why? you ask.
They have what I call pooch-hiding properties!
I love my pooch (not really) but I don’t want it to be around all the time and the best part is you can eat a burger and nobody will notice, do I have to mention more pros to this?
I’ve heard from many friends who are a more large breasted than me (anybody) or who have wider necks that they don’t think this style can work for them. I really hate fashion rules and think there’s always a way to make it work for different body types. Take a look to this amazing blogger and see what I’m talking about here and here. She nails the off the shoulder top and I think two key elements are:
- Covering a big part of your upper arm if the top isn’t long sleeved.
- It’s good for the top to be flowy but not as much in order not to add a lot of volume to your middle section.
Do you love off-the shoulder tops as much as I do? Let me know in the comments below.
