Do you know those days where you feel like a total failure? Days that by 9am you’re already begging for bedtime to come SOON?
I have those days pretty often. My house is a mess. The baby is crying while the toddler is telling me to “watch him” or play with him again. I need to feed the kids and myself too or else how am I going to produce milk? There’s a pile of dishes and laundry waiting. My inbox can’t contain one more email and I’m so behind all the blog work I have to do.
Sometimes I don’t even get to shower or go past my yoga pants. However others I do, especially when what I need is to get myself and the kids out of the house to breathe a little. So, on the days I do I’ve noticed I style my outfits in a different way in order to lift up my spirits and feel more like a super mom instead than a failure.
This pic summarizes the four tweaks I do to my momiform on crazy days. Now next time you see me all “put together” means that it was a messy, crazy day.
1. I switch the t-shirt for a more put together top like an sleeveless button down and do a half tuck. Believe me that tuck does wonders. I do the same in the colder months with a sleeved button down.
2. I add a cute accessory like a belt. I love belts specially when half-tucking, but other times I do a nice necklace.
3. Cute shoes! Always. I think I’m getting obsessed with silver in shoes. I was very skeptical about the metallic shoe trend but after giving it a try with these silver knotted slides, I’m obsessed. Now I’m trying to decide between silver sneakers and boots for fall.
4. Lipstick! And I’ll usually go for a bright color because is an instant mood lifter.
Do you do anything different to your outfits on crazy days? (That is if you get to get dressed)
